The thorns were so sore Jesse could hardly breathe. Melody told him how to get to the river then she went back to class.
Jesse ran to the river, hoping to get a drink and soothe his throat. He rushed up and took a long drink.
Unfortunately he hadn't noticed that the river was polluted.
Was it too late for Jesse?
